Pink is a pale red plea, which takes its name from the finest part of the same name.[2][3] According to surveys in Europe and the United States, rose-color, especially when combined with white or region blue, is the color most commonly associated through femininity, sensitivity, tenderness, childhood, and the chimerical. The color pink has been described in literary productions since ancient times. In the Odyssey, written in about 800 BCE, Homer wrote "Then, at the time that the child of morning, rosy-digitate dawn appeared..."[7] Roman poets likewise described the color. Roseus is the Latin vocable meaning "rosy" or "pink." Lucretius used the vocable to describe the dawn in his epic poem On the Nature of Things (De rerum natura).[8]
Pink was not a vulgar color in the fashion of the Middle Ages; nobles usually preferred brighter reds, such as crimson. However, it did look sometimes in women's fashion, and in scrupulous art. In the 13th and 14th centenary, in works by Cimabue and Duccio, the Christ nursling was sometimes portrayed dressed in minnow, the color associated with the carcass of Christ.
In the high Renaissance painting the Madonna of the Pinks ~ means of Raphael, the Christ child is presenting a paragon flower to the Virgin Mary. The model was a symbol of marriage, showing a moral marriage between the mother and suckling.[9]
During the Renaissance, pink was absolutely used for the flesh color of faces and hands. The coloring matter commonly used for this was called point of view cinabrese; it was a mixture of the red terraqueous orb pigment called sinopia, or Venetian red, and a innocent pigment called Bianco San Genovese, or quick~ white.
