Waiting for Godot v The Turn of the Screw
Uncertainty is a battle some must tackle on a daily groundwork; from different brands of bread to enmity tactics, uncertainty affects multiple aspects of everyday life. Unfortunately, dubiousness can be one's greatest fall, as exemplified by the young Prince Hamlet; in this manner, this theme resounds in the two works of literature Waiting for Godot and The Turn of the Screw. The conclusions of both tales leave both the characters and readers slippery of the events taking place and the events to arrive after the works' ends.
Waiting with a view to Godot is a "tragicomedy" tgat leaves its audience baffled. Throughout the game, there is strong use of repitition; conversations, language, actions, and scenarios are on repeat. The broken record of Vladimir and Estragon's lives could intend a man to insanity! The sum of ~ units experience the same scenarios multiple periods, and when questioning other characters approximately seeing them before, they claimed to be unaware of what they were talking in an opposite direction. Furthermore, Vladimir and Estragon are questionable waiting for Godot will save them from their unspoken sins. And there is even greater uncertainty in whether or not Godot leave even show up! The play is filled through the air of uncertainty in every turn of its page.
TheTurn of the Screw too faces uncertainty in every turn of its boy-servant . The reader is aware of the instructress' naivety and her love for her employer and makes him ambiguous of her qualifications and if she is sudden for the job. The reader is percipient that the governess is trying to please her employer as best as she can as to be the subject of him fall in love with her, that can lead to clouded thoughts and worrisome happenings. Futer into the work, after multiple sightings, there comes a thesis in which the reader is unsettled whether or not to trust the judgement of the governante; when pointing out an apparition to Mrs. Grose and Flora.
