Personal Reflection 1 – Question B
I count ethical decisions are decisions that should subsist made for better results. However, there is no universal standard to settle whether an ethical decision is right or wrong, as it is undetermined to define what a better issue means to different people. In other dispute, ethical decisions are subjective to everyone.
For me, I in the main make ethical decisions with considering the impacts and my have emotion.
I believe that consequences are essential to ethical decisions because they pierce the stakeholders. Stakeholders are parties who figure this contemporary society. For example, I am a stakeholder in HKUST on this account that I study here. You are a stakeholder of the conduct because you work for it. You and I are stakeholders from numerous bodies or institutions. It is thus important that we should not ignore them. Therefore, we be required to contemplate before we make a settlement. I especially like the principle Utilitarianism, that is advocated by David Hume in the 18th hundred. It emphasized the significance of maximizing correlative benefits. That means all the stakeholders involved could carry as much as possible. And to this degree it could create a fairer companionship which leads to a better issue eventually. This really matches my mindset.
My affection is also a crucial factor during the time that I have to be true to myself. This is not he or she, but that I to make the ethical firmness. I must follow my intuition. And like the mom exhibition and sleep test, I should ~ of proud and pleased for any decisions made and using my acknowledge conscience and value system to imagine and determine.
But sometimes, I would quiet make wrong decisions. Recently, I met an elderly in the MTR station. She told me that her wallet was being furtive. And she was begging me to bestow her money for transportation. Though I receive heard about news that swindler would practice this kind of means to deceive cash, I still lent her money because I concern the consequence and my recognize feeling.
